The theme of Black History Month 2012 was/is the contributions and legacy of Black/African American women past and present in America and American History. Of course, here on this blog, Black history is acknowledge 365/24/7, and will not be limited to Black history in America remembering that African History is also Black history.

However, I’d like to direct the spotlight on an amazing woman who helped found the U.S. civil rights movement as well as organize three national Civil Rights organizations; NAACP, SCLC and SNCC.
